London-based startup Nothing has launched its most powerful smartphone so far — the Nothing Phone 3. This new phone marks the brand’s first major step into the premium smartphone market. Unveiled on July 1, 2025, at an event in London, the Phone 3 is being seen as a strong competitor to top models like the Samsung Galaxy S25 and Google Pixel 9. With a fresh design, powerful specs, and smart features, the Phone 3 aims to make a big impact.

Design: A Unique and Mature Look
Nothing phones have always looked different from the crowd, and the Phone 3 keeps that idea alive. But this time, it adds something new — the Glyph Matrix. Unlike the older models that had LED light strips on the back, this one has a circle made up of around 489 tiny LEDs in the top-right corner. This Glyph Matrix can show things like notifications, time, battery level, and more. There’s even a button on the back so you can interact with it.
The phone now looks more premium. Instead of full transparency, it uses high-quality materials like a metal frame and glass back. It still keeps the techy look, with patterns and a glowing red square when the camera is recording. It comes in Black and White, weighs 218 grams, and is 9mm thick. The screen is protected with strong Gorilla Glass 7i.
Performance and Software: Fast and Smart
Inside, the Nothing Phone 3 runs on the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. It’s not the top-of-the-line chip, but it’s still very fast. You can easily play heavy games, edit 4K videos, or multitask without slowing down. There are two versions:
- 12GB RAM + 256GB storage for ₹56,650
- 16GB RAM + 512GB storage for ₹89,999
The phone runs on Android 15 with Nothing’s own OS 3.5, which is clean and smooth, without extra apps you don’t need. New features like Essential Space and Essential Search make it easier to find apps and files quickly. Nothing also promises 5 years of Android updates and 2 extra years of security patches.
The display is a 6.67-inch OLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, high resolution (1260×2800), and super bright 3,000 nits. That means the screen looks sharp and smooth, even in sunlight.
Camera: Four 50MP Lenses for Every Need
The camera setup on the Phone 3 is its most advanced ever. All four cameras are 50MP:
- The main camera takes bright and clear photos, even in low light.
- The periscope telephoto lens gives up to 60x zoom and can also take close-up macro shots.
- The ultrawide lens offers a 114-degree wide view.
- The front camera is also 50MP and supports 4K video recording.
Thanks to TrueLens Engine 4, photos and videos come out clear and sharp. The cameras are placed in the center-back in a unique way that makes the phone stand out.
Battery and Charging: All-Day Power
The Phone 3 has a 5,150mAh battery, which can last a full day easily. It supports 50W wired charging and 20W wireless charging. Although it doesn’t support the latest Qi2 magnetic charging, the battery performance is still solid. There’s no headphone jack, but Nothing sells its own wireless earbuds that pair well with the phone.
Price and Availability
Pre-orders for the Nothing Phone 3 started on July 4, and open sales began on July 15. In India, the starting price is ₹56,650, with some launch offers bringing it down to around ₹62,999 after discounts and exchange deals. Buyers also get a free pair of Nothing Ear earbuds and an extra year of warranty with pre-orders. The phone is available on Nothing’s website, Amazon, and stores like Croma and Vijay Sales.
Verdict: Different, Bold, and Worth a Look
The Nothing Phone 3 is not just another flagship phone — it’s a bold and fresh take on what a smartphone can be. With its special Glyph Matrix, strong performance, clean software, and unique design, it offers something truly different. Even though it doesn’t have the absolute best chip, it still gives great value for the price. For people who want something modern, stylish, and not boring, the Phone 3 is a great option.
